Adam and Jason. Love Them?

17 Feb

Jason Derulo is blowing up the music chart, especially now that his self titled CD is set to be released on March 2, 2010.  While we know and love him for the heart felt, smash hit ”Whatcha Say,” it may come as a surprise to learn that he is also an amazing songwriter and producer. Derulo has produced and wrote songs for Cash Money Records (Think Lil’ Wayne and Drake) and Bad Boy extradanaire Diddy (Yes, I said Diddy). Wanting to make it as a serious singer/songwriter Derulo signed to minor recording label Beluga Heights. His latest hit, “In My Head” is blowing up big on iTunes and is sure to receive the same acclaim as “Whatcha Say.”

Watch Derulo below in his version of “Whatcha Say.”

As for American Idol second runner up Adam Lambert I just have one thing to say: AMAZING. I seriously hope that Lambert “…doesn’t give up” as he strives to become the best selling American Idol contestant ever. He is extremely talented and well versed. I love his sound, his voice and, well, just his overall essence. So for those of you who have not jumped on the Adam Lambert bandwagon, I strongly urge you to – I promise you WON’T be disappointted.

“Whataya Want From Me”

Georgia On My Mind.

8 Jan

So, thanks to a quick e-mail from my godbrother, Kevin, I remembered that I have not written a post in months. In my defense I have moved from Columbia, S.C. to Atlanta, G.A., as well as started a new internship at the Georgia Aquarium in the Public Relations department.

So, with that said I promise, PROMISE, that I will be updating my blog on the regular. I am also in the process of re-designing my blog so that it best reflects my awesome personality; so be on the look out for that. Hope everyone had a safe and blessed New Year. Happy 2010 and get ready for some pretty awesome posts about my time in Hotlanta!

Empire State of Mind.

11 Nov

Every state has there story and like most New York definitely has their own…While I would love to sit here and explain it to you, I will let those of you interested in learning more, do just that, LEARN MORE…(The story is long and I really don’t have the time to sit here and blog about it…I mean hello, people it’s New York and the blog would be like 10,000 words long…)

If you are a New Yorker (and I do mean a New Yorker, not just those from NYC) , then you know what it means to have an empire state of mind. Growing up in a state with pride that excudes all others, makes you a part of an elite group of people. (Sorry to say this, but unless you are from New York, you just won’t understand.)

I love my state and everything that goes along with it: the snow, the big buildings, the trains, the busy lifestyle, the rude people, the general hustle and bustle, the lingo, the Yankees, the Knicks, the Giants, the Bills, the diversity, I mean the list is endless. And it is true what they say, “no where else can even compare.”

Normally I cannot stand be around those people who rep their city (and everything that it stands for) but in this case, I am feeling my New Yorkness and the pride I have in saying that I am from this wonderful state. New York is all about inspiration and the next “big” thing, and unless you have what it takes (i.e. the drive, the determination and some really tough skin) then you won’t survive. What can I say, its that empire state of mind and you either have it or you don’t.

“These streets will make you feel brand new, these big lights will inspire you…Let’s here it for New York, New York, NEW YORK…” the home of everything I love…

Ellen + Oprah on the Next Cover of O Magazine.

11 Nov

For months Ellen DeGeneres has begged Oprah to be on the cover of O Magazine. After Oprah shared her coveted cover with President’s Obama’s wife Michelle, Ellen found it a little un-affair of Oprah to exclude others from being on the O cover. “I am special too Oprah,” said DeGeneres.

And I completely agree. You are special too Ellen. While, there were rumors that Oprah did not want share the limelight with Ellen because they were two “different” types of stars; Ellen won her battle with Oprah and will be featured on the next cover of O magazine. (YAY!)

Yes, Oprah and Ellen are two different types of stars, but, in Ellen’s defense, she is just as successful as Oprah. (Not, “if I endorse your product it will fly off the shelves,” successful, but she IS successful.) Ellen and Oprah appeal to two different demographics; audiences (i.e. demographics) that watch Ellen and Oprah for very different reasons. (Hell, after thinking about it, Ellen and Oprah most likely have the exact same fans…well not exact per se….but, you know what I mean…)

AND WHAT ABOUT THE COVER? After seeing it, I don’t know if I liked what I saw. Oprah looks like she got the upper hand and I really don’t like nor appreciate that, especially as a fan of both women. While Oprah is Oprah and the creator of O magazine (and its direction/content), I found Ellen portrayed as somewhat silly and dormant. Ellen dressed in all white with Christmas lights? I honestly, did not even see her there on the cover…I mean come on, she blended in with the WHITE background in her WHITE suit. Thank God for the lights, but, I digress…

Nevertheless, Ellen has won her battle with Oprah and will be featured on the cover of the next Christmas cover of O. The cover is smart and extremely funny, and shows both women in their element. So, like most of my other blog posts this one goes out to Ellen DeGeneres. You ROCK and congratulations on your campaign win to be on the next cover of O magazine with the one and only Oprah.

Lady Gaga and Her New Bad Romance.

10 Nov

“Ga-ga oh la la…caught in a bad romance.”

I really don’t think I need to explain any comment that mentions the name Lady Gaga. I mean hello its Lady Gaga! And boy oh boy is she back on the music scene with her new single, “Bad Romance.” I swear, the more I listen to her new song the more I love it! This girl is crazy, with a capital C, and I absolutely LOVE IT!

Hate her or love her (or even if you think she is just NUTS), Lady Gaga is exactly what the music industry needs right now: talent. Her new age beats and off the wall lyrics are what make her truly one of a kind. She is definitely not like all the other drones and clones in the music industry right now, who are just interested in the money and the fame (no pun intended).

So, for those of you who have not listened to LG new single, “Bad Romance,” I suggest you listen to it, immediately, below! Lady Gaga this blog is for you and your bad romance; I hope you get to write the book you were looking to write.

PLAY ON Carrie Underwood.

9 Nov

I absolutely love this girl. Now I know that I may shock a few people when I say, openly, that I listen to country music, but truth be told, I listen to just about everything. My motto on music: If you have the voice and the right lyrics, or pretty much the right beat, I am HOOKED!

I heart Carrie, and I am sad to say that I almost missed the release of her new ablum PLAY ON. From what I have listened to, the album sounds really good; yet another great album. But in case you have been living in a bubble (much like me lately) then I strongly urge you to go online, download album and “play” along with Carrie Underwood.

Since the album dropped on Nov. 3, Underwood has been on a PR tour promoting the albums release and the success of her latest single “Cowboy Casanova.” Interested in hearing what she has to say about PLAY ON, view some of her interviews below and, of course, GO PICK UP THE ALBUM!!

Trey Songz “Invented Sex.”

9 Nov

Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, is talking about this video. I actually had to laugh when I read Songz tweet about the song. Then when I watched it, I completely understood the comments. I mean WOW, talk about an interesting video. So, Trey since you invented sex, I dedicate this blog post to you!

And no, I am really not going to sit here and describe to you what the video is about. I figured, I could just post it and hope that everyone gets the message. ENJOY!

Reason No. 100 Why I Love VOGUE.

20 Oct

So for the November issue of VOGUE, Kate Hudon, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Nicole Kidman will be doning the cover to promote their upcoming movie Nine (also starring Sophie Loren, Fergie and Daniel Day-Lewis). The film, which I believe takes place in the late 1960′s, is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2010, so this is an early FYI I am sending, telling everyone to STAY alert and remain on the “look out” for this film.

The November issue of VOGUE was shot by world renowned fashion photographer, Annie Leibovitz on the beach in California. Based on the pictures that were released via VOGUE.com, the November cover is sure to turn a few heads. I honestly cannot wait for next months cover to hit the stands. The fact that Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz will ALL be on the same cover is THE number one reason why I love VOGUE. I mean,  where else can you find a magazine that gives you Michelle Williams one month and the “Women of Nine” the next? No where….except of course VOGUE magazine.

So, get ready! The November issue is only weeks away!

What more VOGUE and Shutter Island star Michelle Williams? Then pick up this months magazine (the October issue)and learn more about this unique actress as she talks about the movie, her life and what it truly means to be a mother.

For more information on “The Women of Nine” and Michelle Williams, please view the videos above and below (Like always you will be disappointed!).
